NIGP 69128: Chain (Roller, Table Top, Engineering, Silent)

NIGP 69128 Chain (Roller, Table Top, Engineering, Silent) is an Item code, but the recent state and local contract opportunities posted under this code do not reflect purchasing activity aligned with the commodity description. The four posted solicitations—ranging from architect and engineering services for airport terminal and parking facility expansions, to golf clubhouse commissioning services, to information technology and low voltage infrastructure reconstruction—do not involve the procurement of chains or chain-related equipment. This suggests either a data classification anomaly or that the code has not been actively used for its intended commodity purpose in the recent contracting activity captured.

No representative purchasing opportunities under NIGP 69128 for chains, chain drives, or related mechanical components can be identified from the posted solicitations. State and local governments may be procuring this commodity through different NIGP codes, cooperative purchasing agreements, or as incidental components within larger facility construction or maintenance contracts rather than as standalone line items. Business development professionals should verify the current applicability of this code within target jurisdictions before committing pursuit resources.
