NIGP 59057: Sewing Kits, All Kinds

NIGP 59057 Sewing Kits, All Kinds is an Item code under which state and local governments procure pre-assembled sewing kits containing needles, thread, buttons, and related supplies for distribution, training, or operational use. The code captures kits ranging from basic emergency repair sets to comprehensive craft or vocational instructional packages. Issuing bodies soliciting under this code include school districts (for vocational and special-education programming), corrections departments (for inmate programming and work products), state and county human services agencies (for job training and life-skills initiatives), and municipal parks and recreation departments (for community programming). The code sees occasional activity rather than continuous procurement volume, with buying patterns driven by budget cycles in education and workforce-development funding rather than recurring operational demand.

No recent state or local contract opportunities appear in the current source data for NIGP 59057. The absence of posted solicitations under this Item code suggests minimal procurement activity in the near term or a concentration of buying through cooperative purchasing frameworks, in-house inventory replenishment, or small-dollar acquisitions that do not trigger formal RFP or IFB notice requirements. Firms monitoring this code should track state education procurement schedules and corrections-agency budget announcements for potential vocational-program kit solicitations, particularly in spring and fall budget cycles, rather than expect continuous pipeline visibility.
