NIGP 57087: Tool Steel: Bars, Drill Rod, Flat Stock, etc.

NIGP 57087 Tool Steel: Bars, Drill Rod, Flat Stock, Etc., an Item code, covers raw and semi-finished tool steel products in bulk form — bars, rods, plates, and flat stock — that state and local governments and their contractors use for fabrication, tool-making, equipment repair, and maintenance operations. State and local purchasing offices, departments of transportation, public works agencies, school district maintenance shops, and municipal utilities source these materials through both direct procurement and cooperative purchasing agreements. The products themselves range from standard carbon-tool-steel bars to specialized alloy formulations, typically sold by weight or linear footage and often ordered in bulk to support in-house machine shops, vehicle maintenance facilities, or capital equipment fabrication projects.

The source material provided contains no recent state or local contract opportunities under this code and does not identify specific issuing bodies, geographic concentrations, or representative solicitations currently active in the market.
