NIGP 57002: Alloy Coatings and Sealers for the Repair of Metal Shafts, Journals, Spindles, etc.

NIGP 57002 Alloy Coatings And Sealers For The Repair Of Metal Shafts, Journals, Spindles, Etc., an Item code, addresses specialized restoration materials state and local governments use to repair and extend the service life of rotating equipment components in maintenance and fabrication operations. The work involves supplying alloy-based coating and sealing products—materials engineered to restore worn or damaged cylindrical metal parts (shafts, journals, spindles) to operational tolerances without full replacement, typical in fleet maintenance shops, water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, and public works equipment yards. State and local issuing bodies soliciting under this code span departments of transportation, public utilities, water authorities, and municipal maintenance divisions.

No recent state and local contract opportunities appear in available records for this Item code. The absence of recent solicitation activity suggests either limited demand visibility in the immediate procurement pipeline or concentration of this specialized work through standing contracts, cooperative purchasing agreements, or in-house maintenance capabilities at larger jurisdictions.
