NIGP 52076: Shoelaces, All Types

NIGP 52076 Shoelaces, All Types is an Item code under which state and local governments procure replacement and bulk shoelaces for institutional use—primarily for correctional facilities, law enforcement academies, military training installations, and school districts outfitting athletic programs and marching bands. The work involves supply contracts for standard cotton, nylon, and specialty laces in various lengths and colors, typically awarded through IFB or ITB notices with annual or multi-year terms. Buying bodies span state departments of corrections, local police and sheriff's offices, county purchasing cooperatives, city parks and recreation departments, and independent school districts.

No recent state and local contract opportunities under NIGP 52076 appear in the available sourced records. Activity under this Item code, when it occurs, tends to be routine reorder and replenishment purchasing rather than competitive solicitation; many jurisdictions source shoelaces through cooperative purchasing agreements or standing supply contracts rather than issuing new competitive notices. Monitor state corrections department procurement portals and school district annual supply RFQs for periodic opportunities, but the code does not signal active or emerging demand at this time.
