NIGP 51080: Nets, Laundry

NIGP 51080 Nets, Laundry is an Item code covering mesh or net-type laundry products used in institutional and commercial washing operations. State and local governments procure these items primarily for correctional facilities, hospitals, detention centers, and maintenance departments that operate high-volume laundry systems. The code captures specialized laundry nets designed to protect delicate or small items during machine washing, separate items by type or color, or organize loads within industrial washers. Issuing bodies include state corrections departments, county jails, municipal public works and facilities management offices, and independent school districts operating their own laundry operations or uniform-cleaning programs.

No recent state and local contract opportunities appear in the available records for this code. Activity under NIGP 51080 is sparse in posted procurement notices, suggesting either low transaction volume, purchasing through standing cooperative agreements, or direct-buy arrangements below formal RFP or IFB thresholds.
