NIGP 40051: Castings, Titanium

NIGP 40051 Castings, Titanium is an Item code under which state and local governments procure titanium castings for equipment repair, replacement, and fabrication across transportation, manufacturing, and infrastructure maintenance programs. The code captures both raw and finished titanium casting components — including valve bodies, pump housings, structural brackets, and specialized aerospace or defense-related parts — sourced through competitive sealed bids, requests for quotation, and requests for proposal. Issuing bodies span state transportation and public works departments, county maintenance operations, municipal utilities, and special-purpose districts managing infrastructure systems where weight savings, corrosion resistance, or thermal performance justify titanium's cost premium over ferrous metals.

No recent state and local contract opportunities under this code appear in the available procurement records. Activity under NIGP 40051 is sparse in published notices, suggesting either a narrow, specialized demand met through existing statewide or cooperative contracts, or procurement handled through standing agreements rather than open solicitation.
