NIGP 37046: Seed Extractors

NIGP 37046 Seed Extractors, an Item code, covers mechanical and manual equipment used to remove seeds from plant material—equipment state and local governments procure primarily through agricultural extension services, botanical gardens, research facilities, and parks departments that maintain seed libraries or native plant propagation programs. The actual buying under this code centers on small-scale to mid-scale extraction equipment: hand-cranked or motorized devices for processing seeds from fruits, pods, or flower heads, as well as related cleaning and sorting attachments. Issuing bodies are typically state departments of agriculture, county cooperative extension offices, municipal parks and recreation departments, and university-affiliated botanical institutions. Activity is episodic and scattered rather than concentrated—each jurisdiction buys these tools infrequently and in small quantities, usually as replacement or supplemental equipment for existing seed-processing operations.

The source provided no recent state or local contract opportunities under NIGP 37046 Seed Extractors. Without posted solicitations or awarded contracts, geographic concentration and representative recent activity cannot be determined from available records.
