NIGP 37021: Filling Machine

NIGP 37021 Filling Machine is an Item code covering industrial filling equipment used to dispense, package, and portion materials into containers—a narrow but operationally critical input for food processing, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, and manufacturing facilities operated or contracted by state and local agencies. State and local governments procure filling machines primarily through capital equipment purchases or as components of larger production-line upgrades, typically when existing equipment reaches end-of-life or when an agency expands processing capacity. These acquisitions cross issuing bodies: state departments of agriculture, corrections (food service and commissary operations), health (pharmaceutical and lab operations), and municipal utilities and water authorities; counties and cities running wastewater treatment or solid-waste processing facilities; and school districts and transit authorities operating food-service and maintenance shops.

No recent state and local contract opportunities under NIGP 37021 are currently posted or identifiable in available procurement records. The absence of visible solicitation activity under this code does not indicate zero demand—filling-machine procurements often cluster in multi-year capital planning cycles and may be absorbed under broader equipment or facility-upgrade RFPs—but represents a quiet period in posted opportunities. Business development professionals evaluating this code should monitor state purchasing portals and cooperative-purchasing catalogs for seasonal upticks tied to fiscal-year capital budgets and agency facility-maintenance schedules.
