NIGP 32062: Rivet Guns

NIGP Item 32062, Rivet Guns, covers pneumatic and manual fastening tools that state and local governments procure for maintenance, assembly, and construction work. This Item sits within the broader fasteners and hardware family and serves public works departments, transit authorities, school districts, and facility-maintenance operations that require portable riveting equipment for sheet-metal work, structural assembly, and equipment repairs. Rivet guns range from simple hand-operated models to pneumatic tools rated for high-volume or heavy-duty applications, and procurement typically occurs through small-dollar maintenance and repair solicitations rather than major capital projects.

The source provided contains no recent state and local contract opportunities under NIGP 32062. Without posted solicitation records, the current market activity, issuing-body mix, and geographic concentration cannot be characterized. Firms evaluating this code should monitor cooperative purchasing catalogs and periodic maintenance RFQs from state transportation departments, county facilities divisions, and transit authorities, which historically drive demand for small tools, but should not assume current procurement velocity without evidence of active solicitation flow.
