NIGP codes come from the NIGP Code (NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement, maintained by Periscope Holdings), and state and local contract opportunities from the governments' procurement sites.
About NIGP 30572
NIGP 30572 Slide Rules, an Item code, addresses a commodity category with no recent state and local procurement activity in the available opportunity records.
This absence of current solicitation activity reflects the displacement of slide rules by digital calculators and software tools across government and education sectors over several decades. While the code remains in the NIGP taxonomy, state and local agencies do not appear to be procuring slide rules for operational or educational use in the current market. Agencies pursuing related computational or measurement tools should review adjacent NIGP codes covering calculators, drafting equipment, or measurement instruments that reflect current procurement practice.
