NIGP 28062: Recycled Cable and Wire

NIGP 28062 Recycled Cable and Wire, an Item code, covers wire decking and electrical wire and cable products sourced from recycled materials or purchased as stock for state and local government operations. Recent solicitations show state and local governments buying pallet rack wire decking for warehouse and storage infrastructure, and electrical equipment, parts, and supplies for ongoing operations and maintenance. The issuing-body mix includes school districts and large trial courts; Northside Independent School District in San Antonio and the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles both posted opportunities under this code in the past four months.

Activity appears concentrated in Texas and California. Northside Independent School District posted IFB 2026098 on June 8, 2026, seeking sealed bids for electrical equipment, parts, supplies, rentals, repairs, and services with a response deadline of July 1, 2026; the District emphasized that all vendors must respond to the new IFB or risk losing future business with the replacement of expiring contract 2025-100. The Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles posted RFQ 202635171135 on April 24, 2026, requesting quotes for 606 pallet rack wire decking units (52 inches by 42 inches, 2,500-pound load capacity) with a response deadline of May 7, 2026 and pricing valid for 90 days from submission; the Court reserved the right to award to a single vendor and did not accept refurbished or alternate-brand products.
