NIGP 24586: Teat Sanitizing Equipment and Supplies

NIGP 24586 Teat Sanitizing Equipment and Supplies is an Item code that covers cleaning and disinfection products and equipment used in dairy operations to sanitize teats before and after milking. State and local governments procure under this code primarily through agricultural extension services, state departments of agriculture, county cooperative extension offices, and special districts managing agricultural facilities or educational programs in animal husbandry. The scope includes teat dips, sprays, wipes, sanitizing solutions, applicators, and related equipment designed to maintain herd health and meet dairy sanitation standards. Purchasing is typically routine and episodic rather than project-driven, reflecting ongoing operational needs at state veterinary research facilities, agricultural training programs, and county fair grounds that maintain demonstration herds.

Recent state and local procurement activity under this code is minimal. No posted opportunities appear in the current window to support representative solicitation examples, issuing-body characterization, or geographic-spread analysis. The code remains active in the NIGP taxonomy but does not generate sufficient visible procurement volume in the state and local marketplace to establish clear patterns of buyer concentration or regional demand.
