NIGP 07508: Brake Bench Stands

NIGP 07508 Brake Bench Stands, an Item code, covers equipment and work platforms used for servicing, testing, and maintaining vehicle braking systems — primarily brake drum and disc assemblies in fleet maintenance and repair operations. State and local governments procuring under this code typically seek portable or stationary brake bench stands for use in fleet service facilities, transit maintenance shops, and municipal vehicle repair centers. The issuing bodies that engage this code are primarily transit authorities and county or municipal fleet maintenance departments managing light-duty and heavy-duty vehicle fleets.

Recent state and local solicitation activity under this code is minimal. The most recent opportunities block contains no active brake bench stand procurement notices. A single transit authority contract opportunity currently posted — Jacksonville Transportation Authority RFP P-24-025 for Transit Stop Operational Maintenance with a due date of August 14, 2024 — addresses shelter assembly, installation, and repair services at transit stops, not brake service equipment. A Williamson County Purchasing Department notice (26OTHER73) dated July 14, 2026, is an administrative relocation announcement with no procurement scope. No other recent brake bench stand solicitations appear in the current state and local pipeline.
