NIGP 05533: Grease Guns, Automotive

NIGP 05533 Grease Guns, Automotive is an Item code representing a narrow product category within automotive maintenance supplies. State and local governments procure grease guns and related lubricant-dispensing equipment as part of broader fleet maintenance operations. The recent opportunities block shows minimal direct solicitation activity under this specific code; instead, grease guns and similar tools are typically bought as line items within larger automotive parts and fleet-maintenance contracts rather than as standalone commodity purchases. Issuing bodies pursuing fleet maintenance supplies include county purchasing departments, school districts, and municipal fleet services divisions. When solicited, these items are incorporated into broader supply agreements for automotive repair parts and just-in-time inventory management rather than purchased in isolation.

The recent activity reflects this pattern: Brevard County Purchasing Services issued an RFB (Bid B52621, due February 25, 2026) for fleet and facility inventory management services that bundles automotive parts, equipment, and supplies—including maintenance tools and consumables—into a comprehensive five-year just-in-time supply contract for 1,114 county assets; the School Board of Sarasota County issued an RFB (Bid #26-0124, due February 12, 2026) establishing a one-year supply agreement for automotive and light truck repair parts across 19 OEM manufacturers, covering the parts ecosystem in which grease guns function. Both Florida jurisdictions frame procurement around inventory management systems and parts-room operations rather than discrete commodity lines. No recent opportunities in the source are solicited as standalone grease-gun purchases; activity under this Item code is concentrated within aggregate automotive maintenance contracts at county and school-district level, with Florida representing the visible recent geographic activity.
