COMBINED SYNOPSIS/ SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Proposals are requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.(ii) This solicitation/synopsis reference number is F1MTGT2128A001 and is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ).(iii) This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-59.(iv) This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small businesses. Under the authority of FAR 13.5, the U.S. Army Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army-Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a contract on a sole source basis with AVL Looms, Inc., of 3851 Morrow Lane #9, Chico, CA 95928, to provide an industrial computer dobby loom. This loom will be used by NSRDEC to produce a fully customizable range of woven constructions. Only computer-dobby looms can provide the required degree of production flexibility. AVL Looms is the only US manufacturer of computer-dobby looms. No solicitation document is available.
