Star trainer services

The Arizona Department of Education awarded a contract (CTR075058) to Melinda Stanley for Student Achievement in Reading (STAR) Training Services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II adult education professional development program. The initial contract, effective upon execution through June 30, 2025, provides compensation of $8,200, which includes 120 hours of work at $62.50 per hour ($7,500) and up to $700 for travel expenses related to program classroom observations.

An amendment to the original contract extends Stanley's engagement through September 30, 2025, with an additional $2,050 allocation covering 26 hours of work at $75 per hour and up to $100 in travel expenses. Stanley's responsibilities include attending monthly trainer meetings, maintaining communication with assigned programs, providing technical assistance, supporting the AZ STAR website, and participating in classroom observations and learning communities. The contract is part of a broader initiative involving four trainers to develop and facilitate the AZ STAR Training Series for adult education teachers, focusing on research-based reading instruction.
