About this vehicle

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District established a Master IDIQ on May 5, 2009 for environmental remediation and long-term monitoring at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas; ordering closed on May 3, 2019, and the vehicle is no longer accepting new task orders. The work addresses hazardous and explosive contaminants including lead azide, lead styphnate, RDX, and heavy metals such as antimony, barium, cadmium, and lead, as well as ammunition-contaminated materials from de-milling and manufacturing chemical residues.

The vehicle generated nine task orders totaling $8.2 million in potential value, with $6.9 million (84%) obligated. Ordering activity peaked early: five orders were placed in 2009, two in 2010, and one each in 2015 and 2017, with the most recent award on September 28, 2017. Eight of nine orders (89%) carried small-business set-asides; one was unrestricted. All task orders funded the Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District.

Remediation Services, LLC leads by combined potential value at $4.2 million across three orders. FPM Remediations, Inc. holds four orders valued at $2 million combined, and Hydrogeologic, Inc. holds two orders at $2 million combined. The three primes account for 100% of awarded task orders.

Task-order values ranged from roughly $114,000 to $2.9 million potential value. The largest single order, long-term groundwater monitoring, carried a $2.9 million ceiling. Orders were priced firm-fixed and performed at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Labette County, Kansas. Work scope included RCRA closure activities, site investigations, soil characterization, storage tank remediation, sewage treatment plant assessment, and ongoing groundwater monitoring, with ultimate completion dates spanning 2012 through 2022.
