THE PURPOSE OF THIS ACQUISITION IS TO PROCURE COMMERCIAL DEMOLITION RELATED SERVICES TO REDUCE THE INVENTORY OF EXCESS FACILITIES, THEREBY SAVING ENERGY AND MAINTENANCE COSTS; ELIMINATING SAFETY HAZARDS, NUISANCES, AND UNSIGHTLY STRUCTURES, WHILE FREEING UP VALUABLE ARMY REAL ESTATE FOR FUTURE DEVELOPMENT. IN ADDITION, THIS ACQUISITION WILL PROVIDE THE CAPACITY FOR RAPID MOBILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL TO PERFORM DEMOLITION IN RESPONSE TO MAN-MADE OR NATURAL DISASTERS.
