Description
The scope of the contract is to support research and technology development for aerospace systems that support nasas goals in the areas of advanced materials and structural systems aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, and acoustics systems analysis and concepts entry, descent, and landing measurement systems and autonomous technologies and flight critical and intelligent flight systems. The research scope ranges in maturity from fundamental tool and technology development through integrated technology demonstrations, potentially to include flight demonstrations, and vehicle concepts and performance conditions within the speed regimes of subsonic through hypersonic atmospheric flight.the baart contract is awarded as a multiple award indefinite delivery indefinite quantity IDIQ contract, which offers the most flexibility for the work under this contract. The PWS is structured to support basic and applied research, technology concepts, analysis, development and integration systems concepts, analysis development and integration and technology demonstrations, including flight demonstrations.the baart contract will provide research and technology development for aerospace systems that support nasas goals in the areas of advanced materials and structural systems aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, and acoustics systems analysis and concepts entry, descent, and landing measurement systems and autonomous technologies and flight-critical and intelligent flight systems. The research scope ranges in maturity from basic tool and technology development through integrated technology demonstrations, potentially to include flight demonstrations, and vehicle concepts and performance conditions within the speed regimes of subsonic through hypersonic atmospheric flight. The scope of baart includes: the current multiple award structures, materials, aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics and acoustics research and technology smaaart contract the current multiple award flight critical systems research fcsr contract, and includes portions of scope of the current multiple award inflatable aerodynamic decelerator IAD and the current single award contract systems analysis concept development SAC d in order to maximize the number of competitive offerors the performance work statement PWS of baart was divided into five technical tracks based on a logical grouping of technologies. Track a consisted of technologies for advanced materials and structural systems, aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, and acoustics. Track b consisted of systems analysis and concepts for aerospace systems. Track c consisted of technologies for entry descent and landing. Track d consisted of measurement systems and autonomous technologies. Track e consisted of technologies for flight critical and intelligent flight systems. Multiple awards were made to offerors in each technical track. Track b was restricted as a small business set aside all other tracks were competed as full and open
