About this IDV

Nanoracks, LLC, a commercial space services company, has been awarded a $54 million Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center to provide concierge services, integration support, and operations for technology demonstrations and science investigations on the International Space Station (ISS) U.S. National Laboratory.

The contract, which does not have a set-aside designation, enables Nanoracks to leverage its expertise in payload development, integration, transportation, and in-space deployment to support a wide range of research and technology initiatives for NASA, commercial, and educational customers. Task orders issued to date under this IDC include CubeSat integration and deployment, microgravity experiments, and educational outreach programs like the High School Students United with NASA to Create Hardware (HUNCH). These awards demonstrate Nanoracks' specialized capabilities in leveraging the ISS platform to advance space technologies and enable greater utilization of the orbital laboratory.

Description

Nanoracks concierge services previously, nanoracks was awarded a sbir phase I contract, NNX11CH56P, for an ISS U. S. National laboratory nanoracks III facility for use by commercial and government customers. Those funds allowed nanoracks to launch a cost effective research platform. In the next stage, nanoracks self-funded further development, manufacture, and test of the system that includes add-on services allowing for ease in use and data communications. The nanoracks (NR) ecosystem on the U.S. National lab on international space station (ISS) is built around structural, power, data, and operational standards evolved for and employed in the nanoracks frame III facility this entire hardware infrastructure is the nanoracks III system. IT is a `commercial service which allows for on-orbit operations, on-orbit analysis, and return, when required, of the payload and/or research results. Nanoracks is offering the listed development, integration and research services at set low costs and via a standard menu of services that covers users beginning-to-end needs. These processes for our customers have been developed, refined and implemented under its space act agreement somd 6355 with NASA's U.S. National laboratory. As nanoracks continues to grow its on-orbit station infrastructure in response to demand from its commercial, educational and NASA clients, IT will continue to innovate, seeking to reduce costs (for example via its familiarity with stella) and shorten the time from the inception of an idea until research results are in the hands of the experimenter. Nanoracks will also seek to reduce the astronaut time needed to accomplish research goals via its operations design and use of stella and next generation nanoracks research platforms. Nanoracks concierge services include project-specific integration and operations support on an as needed basis in response to specific requirements as an on-call implementation partner to NASA that will increase the ease, efficiency, and effectiveness of technology demonstrations and science investigations on board the ISS.
