The Department of the Navy Military Sealift Command awarded Mid Atlantic Engineering Technical Services, Inc. a multiple-award indefinite delivery contract with a potential value of $140 million. The contract has a base period of performance through September 2028 and utilizes a total small business set-aside.
Under the contract, Maets will provide general ship repair, maintenance, and technical support services to Naval vessels located along the U.S. East Coast. Task orders will include services such as steel work, piping repairs, deck resurfacing, painting, and preservation efforts to maintain operational readiness. Maets will also offer planning assistance and logistics support for ship maintenance programs across various Navy fleets. The original solicitation sought these types of general ship repair services to support the Military Sealift Command's vessels operating in the Atlantic.
Maets has extensive experience providing similar repair, refurbishment, and maintenance services on ships including fleet replenishment oilers, destroyers, amphibious assault vessels and hospital ships through prior prime contract awards with Military Sealift Command and Naval Sea Systems Command. The multiple-award structure of this contract allows the Navy to obtain these critical services for its East Coast assets on an as-needed basis while taking advantage of competition among awardees.
