The Missile Defense Agency (MDA), a defense agency, awarded an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) valued up to $300 million to Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a non-profit applied research laboratory. The contract provides for research, development, and engineering support to aid the development of system technologies for MDA, the Department of Defense, and NASA.
Through task orders issued under this IDC, SDL will provide subject matter expertise, technical direction, modeling and simulation, hardware and software development, and other engineering and analytical services to support MDA's mission priorities. These task orders, valued up to tens of millions of dollars each, cover a range of efforts including sustainment of LIDAR systems, modernization of strategic warning ground capabilities, and advancement of missile defense technologies. SDL will perform the majority of the work at its facilities in Utah, leveraging its expertise in areas such as space systems, defense technologies, sensors, and data exploitation to deliver innovative solutions to the government.
