The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Armstrong Flight Research Center has awarded a multiple award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to Galactic Enterprises, LLC (also known as Virgin Galactic) with a total potential value of $45 million through January 2024. Under this IDIQ contract, Galactic Enterprises is providing flight and payload integration services to support NASA's spacecraft operations, flight testing, and advanced concepts research.
The contract aims to procure services for various flight profiles involving reduced gravity, high altitude, space environment, and controlled ascent/descent testing using platforms such as high-altitude balloons, spacecraft, sounding rockets, and vertical testbeds. The work is being performed in locations including California, New Mexico, and Nevada. Galactic Enterprises has received several firm fixed-price delivery orders under this IDIQ, ranging from $205,710 to $262,922, for tasks such as evaluating additive manufacturing techniques in low-gravity, reviewing data from suborbital crew flights, and providing general flight and payload integration support. No set-aside designations have been used for these awards.
