About this IDV

The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital holds a $10 million Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) with the Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to provide expert advisory services, literature reviews, stakeholder interviews, report development, data analysis, and meeting participation to support the federal Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children (ACHDNC). Under this IDC, HRSA has issued five firm fixed-price delivery orders totaling $2.95 million for the Research Institute to conduct evidence-based reviews, provide expedited reviews of nominated conditions, and develop reports and presentations for the ACHDNC. The purpose of this work is to support the ACHDNC's recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services on conditions to be added to the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel for newborn screening programs nationwide. No set-aside designations were used for these awards. The work is primarily performed in Rockville, Maryland and Columbus, Ohio, with some subcontractor participation.

The original HRSA solicitation was seeking advisory and technical support services to assist the ACHDNC in its mission to provide evidence-based recommendations on newborn screening policies and guidelines. The contract aims to leverage the Research Institute's expertise in pediatric research and healthcare to deliver reports, analyses, and other resources to inform the ACHDNC's systematic reviews of conditions for potential addition to the national newborn screening panel. This supports HRSA's efforts to enhance state and local public health agencies' ability to provide screening, counseling, and services for newborns and children with heritable disorders.
