The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded multiple firm fixed-price indefinite delivery contracts and delivery orders to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (The Joint Commission) to provide healthcare accreditation, certification, and advisory services. As the prime contractor, The Joint Commission has extensive experience performing these services for federal agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Defense Health Agency, and HHS.
The contracts, valued up to $300 million in total potential value, enable HHS agencies including the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Indian Health Service to task The Joint Commission to accredit and certify healthcare facilities, including federally-funded health centers and Indian Health Service hospitals. The services support the agencies' missions of improving healthcare quality and access for underserved populations. Task orders have been issued for accreditation surveys, consultation, and technical assistance at facilities located across the United States, with performance primarily in Illinois and New Mexico. These indefinite delivery contracts allow HHS to quickly and efficiently access The Joint Commission's expertise in healthcare standards compliance and quality assurance.
