The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) South Africa mission has awarded a $250 million single-award indefinite delivery contract to the non-profit organization Right To Care to provide rapid technical support and build health system capacity for emerging infectious disease epidemics through December 2024. Two task orders have been issued against this contract to date:

  1. A $30 million cost-plus-fixed-fee task order to provide tailored, targeted interventions and technical support to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) region during periods of heightened vulnerability caused by emerging and new acute events, with a period of performance through May 2025.

  2. A $118 million cost-plus-fixed-fee task order to support USAID's Southern Africa COVID-19 response pursuant to the American Rescue Plan Act, with a period of performance through January 2025. Right To Care, a non-profit limited liability company, will provide technical assistance and administrative services across Southern Africa to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic under this task order.

Both task orders leverage the broader $250 million IDV contract to rapidly mobilize technical expertise and build regional health system capacity to address emerging infectious disease threats in Southern Africa.
