The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a $1 billion indefinite delivery contract, the Water and Development II IDIQ (WADI II), to Research Triangle Institute (RTI) International, a non-profit research organization. The WADI II contract vehicle enables USAID to procure a range of technical expertise and advisory services in water security, sanitation, hygiene, and water resources management to support its international development programs.
Under the WADI II IDIQ, USAID has issued two task orders to RTI totaling over $89 million. The first is a $44.7 million cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order to strengthen local government capacity for effective, transparent, and citizen-responsive water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) service delivery in Ecuador. The second is a $45 million cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order to support USAID's Climate Resilient WASH Activity in Ethiopia, which aims to enhance access to climate-resilient WASH services. Neither task order has set-aside designations. These awards demonstrate the breadth of RTI's expertise that USAID is leveraging through the WADI II IDIQ to advance its international development goals.
