The General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service has awarded Blue Bird Body Company, a leading manufacturer of school buses, shuttle buses, and specialty vehicles, an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) valued at up to $500,000,000 to support the 2025 Main Bus Program. This multiple-award IDC enables GSA to issue task orders for a wide range of buses, including Type C and Type D school buses, adult work buses, and shuttle buses in various passenger capacities, to meet the transportation needs of federal agencies and student transportation programs.
The original solicitation invited interested vendors to participate in the development of 2025 Federal Vehicle Standards by providing technical data on makes and models they intend to offer. The contract covers a broad range of vehicle types and configurations, as defined by the Special Item Numbers, to support GSA's centralized fleet management initiatives. As the prime contractor, Blue Bird Body Company will manufacture and deliver the vehicles from its facility in Fort Valley, Georgia, without any major subcontractors. The IDC has an ultimate completion date of November 24, 2029, providing GSA with a reliable source of specialized transportation solutions over an extended period.
