The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded a single-award Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) valued up to $2,252,820.04 to BioHorizons Implant Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Henry Schein, Inc., to provide dental implants and ancillary items to support VA medical facilities nationwide. This contract was awarded without any set-aside designation, allowing for full and open competition.
Under this IDC, BioHorizons has received two firm fixed-price delivery orders totaling over $61,800 to supply specialized dental implants to VA hospitals in South Carolina and Virginia. Additionally, BioHorizons holds a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with the VA to furnish dental implants on a consignment basis over a two-year period. The contract aims to ensure the VA has access to quality dental implant products and volume-based discounts by establishing a sole-source arrangement with key industry suppliers. The period of performance for the IDC runs through April 2024, enabling the VA to acquire dental implants and related items on an as-needed basis to support the healthcare needs of eligible military veterans.
