The Department of Agriculture Forest Service R1-Northern Region has awarded an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) to Sierra Cone, LLC, a small business, to provide vegetative materials collection services in support of forest restoration programs under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law's Replant Act. The $4.5 million IDC, set aside for total small businesses, has a period of performance through January 11, 2029.
Under this IDC, Sierra Cone will collect various conifer cones, including ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, red fir, white fir, Jeffrey pine, and incense cedar, across multiple national forests in Arizona, New Mexico, and California. These cone and seed collection services will aid the Forest Service's reforestation and habitat restoration efforts by replenishing critical stocks needed to regenerate trees. Sierra Cone has previously held other prime IDC and Blanket Purchase Agreement contracts with the Forest Service to provide ongoing, scalable cone and needle collection services in support of its stewardship and land management programs.
