The USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region awarded a multiple award Blanket Purchase Agreement to Fremont Forest Systems, Inc. to support restoration efforts in central Oregon. Under the BPA, the awardee may receive task orders for services such as tree planting, grubbing, and animal damage control in Sisters, Oregon valued at $39,208. One such task order calls for these services with a total small business set-aside on National Forest System lands to be completed by June 2023.
The original solicitation sought up to 20 vendors per activity under the BPA to improve forest and rangeland health on National Forests in Oregon through hazardous fuels reduction, fire risk mitigation, and invasive species control. Eligible work includes pre-commercial thinning, piling, mastication, subsoiling, tree planting and related services within 120 miles of targeted forests. The goals are to enhance ecosystem resilience, watershed quality, wildlife habitat and air quality while reducing wildfire hazards, catastrophic fire risk, and proliferation of noxious plants. The BPA and subsequent task orders aim to procure critical contracting services that support the Forest Service's central Oregon restoration efforts.
