Insitu, Inc. was awarded an indefinite delivery vehicle by the Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command to provide tactical unmanned aircraft systems and recurring logistics support. No set-aside designations were used. Four delivery orders were subsequently issued against this contract for field service representative services, training, spare parts, and aircraft in Afghanistan with periods of performance from 2017 through 2023. The largest order was issued in 2019 for $86M to fund field service representative operators for unmanned aerial systems in support of overseas contingency operations through October 2023. An earlier order issued in 2018 was valued at $58.6M for spare parts lot 1 fulfilling through April 2019. Training was also provided through a $25.8M order in 2017 completing in September 2018. Insitu served as prime contractor to deliver unmanned aircraft, logistics, and embedded contractor support services using its expertise in small tactical unmanned systems and overseas operations. The original indefinite delivery contract awarded to Insitu in 2016 as a single award provided an unlimited potential value and allowed delivery of ScanEagle systems, spare parts, maintenance, sustainment, and associated support services to Naval Air Systems Command customers through 2026. Subsequent orders indicate tasking in Afghanistan but do not preclude other locations. Insitu's designation as a leading original equipment manufacturer of small unmanned aircraft qualified it to serve as the prime contractor and provide integrated logistical support for the Naval Air Systems Command's overseas fleet operations.
