Veterans adaptive sports programs

The U.S. Military Racquetball Federation received a $321,600 Project Grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration, Under Secretary for Health, awarded September 30, 2025, under the VA Grants for Adaptive Sports Programs for Disabled Veterans and Disabled Members of the Armed Forces program (CFDA 64.034). This one-year award, with a completion date of September 30, 2026, supports the Federation's delivery of adaptive sports programs tailored to disabled veterans and armed forces members with service-connected disabilities, including spinal cord injuries, amputations, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other mental health conditions.

Under this award, the Federation provides comprehensive adaptive sports activities encompassing instruction, participation, and competitive opportunities in racquet sports including racquetball, pickleball, tennis, badminton, and squash. Services include sport-specific training, athlete assessment, coaching support, and provision of equipment and supplies necessary to implement nationwide adaptive sports programming. The Federation operates as a direct service provider with no identified subcontractors, building on four consecutive years of VA grant funding totaling approximately $917,190 since 2021 to expand access to competitive and recreational racquet sports opportunities that promote physical health, mental wellness, and community reintegration for disabled veterans.
