Move united adaptive sports program (programming for veterans)

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Under Secretary for Health awarded a $368,500 Project Grant to Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) under the VA Grants for Adaptive Sports Programs for Disabled Veterans and Disabled Members of the Armed Forces program (CFDA 64.034) on September 30, 2025. The award period extends through September 30, 2026. PVA's MOVE UNITED Adaptive Sports Program utilizes this funding to plan, develop, manage, and implement adaptive sports initiatives serving disabled veterans and members of the armed forces with physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and mental health conditions.

Through this grant, PVA delivers a comprehensive range of adaptive sports services and products, including instruction and participation opportunities in adaptive sports activities such as equine-assisted therapy, adaptive aquatic programs, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, cycling, sailing, scuba diving, fly-fishing, archery, and outdoor adventure sports. The organization also provides training and technical assistance to coaches and program administrators, athlete assessment and Paralympic classification services, sport-specific training, equipment and supplies, program development support, and competition venues. These services enhance quality of life and overall wellness for participating veterans and service members through meaningful athletic and recreational engagement.
