THE COALITION WILL PREVENT AND REDUCE YOUTH SUBSTANCE USE BY IMPLEMENTING THE FOLLOWING STRATEGIES: ENGAGE AND COLLABORATE WITH NEW MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS; PROVIDE TRAINING & EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES TO ENHANCE SKILLS OF COALITION MEMBERS; ENGAGE AND COLLABORATE WITH EXTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS/AGENCIES; DEVELOP NEW AND STRENGTHEN EXISTING RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL MEDIA; IDENTIFY AND COORDINATE PARTNERS' RESOURCES FOR PARENT EDUCATION; MOBILIZE DFH PARTNERS TO OBTAIN AND DISSEMINATE LOCAL DATA; DISSEMINATE CURRENT STATISTICS AND YOUTH SUBSTANCE USE INFORMATION TO PARTNERS, PARENTS, AND GENERAL COMMUNITY; HOST AND SUPPORT ACTIVITIES THAT HELP DETER RISKY BEHAVIORS AND ENHANCE PROTECTIVE FACTORS; ENHANCE ACCESS AND REDUCE BARRIERS BY SUPPORTING EXISTING YOUTH PREVENTION, INTERVENTION, AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS; SUPPORT LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT APPLICATION OF EXISTING LAWS, ORDINANCES AND POLICIES; CHANGE ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS THAT PROMOTE RISKY BEHAVIORS INCLUDING THE USE OF MARIJUANA AND OTHER DRUGS; AND SUPPORT THE CREATION OF NEW LOCAL ORDINANCES.
