About this award
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs awarded Centro Colombino Americano (Centro Colombino Americano Bogota) a $422.1K Project Grant under the Public Diplomacy Programs (CFDA 19.040) to upgrade and renovate facilities at its Bogota location. The project, which commenced September 1, 2025 and concludes August 30, 2026, encompasses two primary deliverables: enhancement of the organization's bilingual library infrastructure and renovation of its auditorium. These facility improvements are designed to create technology-enhanced spaces that strengthen the binational center's capacity to promote educational and cultural exchange between the United States and Colombia while showcasing American culture and advancing civic engagement.
As a binational center focused on U.S.-Colombia relations, Centro Colombino Americano leverages these upgraded facilities to support its broader mission of educational exchange, English language instruction, and public diplomacy initiatives. The renovated spaces will enable the organization to host expanded programming in cultural diplomacy, student advising, and community engagement activities that strengthen bilateral understanding and support U.S. foreign policy objectives in the Western Hemisphere.
