Center for women & enterprise

The Center for Women & Enterprise, Inc. (CWE) received a $150,000 Project Grant award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Women's Business Ownership Assistance program (CFDA 59.043) to provide training, counseling, and technical assistance to women-owned small businesses located in Burlington, Vermont. This federal grant funding allows CWE's Vermont division to deliver entrepreneurship development services, including workshops, access to capital assistance, mentoring, and related resources to support the growth and success of women entrepreneurs in the local community. CWE has secured multiple years of SBA grant funding through the Women's Business Ownership Assistance program, having previously received a $757,000 award in 2020 and a $420,000 CARES Act cooperative agreement to aid women-owned businesses impacted by the pandemic. The organization has also partnered with Vermont State Colleges through a sub-grant to facilitate mentorship and peer networks for program participants.
