Great lakes women's business council

The Great Lakes Women's Business Council (GLWBC) was awarded a $150,000 Project Grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Entrepreneurial Development under the Women's Business Ownership Assistance Program (CFDA 59.043). The grant, effective September 30, 2023 through September 29, 2024, will enable GLWBC to provide training, counseling, and technical assistance to small businesses owned and controlled by women, with an emphasis on socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. As a Community Development Corporation and Community Development Financial Institution, GLWBC aids entrepreneurs in overcoming discriminatory barriers and building capacity through services such as access to capital, certification programs, corporate contracting opportunities, and small business education. The funding will support GLWBC's ongoing efforts to remove barriers women entrepreneurs face in accessing critical resources for business growth in the Livonia, Michigan area.
