Office of women's business ownership

The Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Entrepreneurial Development awarded a $150,000 Project Grant under the Women's Business Ownership Assistance program (CFDA #59.043) to the Microbusiness Advancement Center of Southern Arizona (MAC), a non-profit organization, on September 30, 2023. This grant will fund MAC to deliver training, counseling, and technical assistance to women-owned small businesses in Tucson, Arizona through September 2024. The goal is to help remove discriminatory barriers that women entrepreneurs face in accessing capital, markets, management, and other critical resources for business growth. This award builds on MAC's previous SBA grant funding, including a $300,000 three-year grant in 2022 and a $900,243.99 grant in 2019 for similar work supporting women-owned businesses in southern Arizona. MAC also received a $420,000 CARES Act Cooperative Agreement in 2020 from the SBA to assist women-owned small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
