Office of women's business ownership

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) awarded a $150,000 Project Grant under the Women's Business Ownership Assistance program (CFDA 59.043) to The Catalyst Center For Business & Entrepreneurship, a non-profit organization located in Huntsville, Alabama. The award date is September 30, 2023 and the project period runs through September 29, 2024.

The funding will support the Catalyst Center in delivering training, counseling, and technical assistance aimed at assisting small businesses owned and controlled by women, with an emphasis on socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The goal is to remove discriminatory barriers women entrepreneurs face in accessing capital, markets, management, and other critical resources for business growth. The center provides workshops, programs, and events to help men and women start and grow small businesses, and often collaborates with partners like AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers in executing its initiatives.
