Office of women's business ownership

The Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Entrepreneurial Development awarded a $150,000 Project Grant under the Women's Business Ownership Assistance program (CFDA 59.043) to Anewamerica Community Corporation, a non-profit organization located in Berkeley, California. The grant will fund the delivery of entrepreneurship training, business consulting, financial literacy, and mentoring services specifically targeted at assisting small businesses owned and controlled by women, with an emphasis on supporting socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The goal is to remove discriminatory barriers women entrepreneurs face in accessing capital, markets, management, and other critical resources for business growth. Anewamerica Community Corporation has received multiple awards from this SBA program in recent years to provide these services and support for women-owned small businesses in Oakland and surrounding regions of California.
