The award funds acquisition of an Aurora CS instrument equipped with full spectral detection, more than 60 sensitive detectors, and the capability to measure over 30 cellular parameters simultaneously....
- The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Office of the Director awarded Vanderbilt University $250,000 on September 1, 2026, under the Research Infrastructure Programs (CFDA 93.351) to acquire an ASFA Spotter V6.7 HE automated liquid handling system for the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology High-Throughput Screening Core Facility. The equipment addresses a critical bottleneck in scaling organoid and other three-dimensional culture models for...
- Federal Project Grant Award Summary Yale University received a $1.98 million Project Grant from the National Institutes of Health Office of the Director under the Research Infrastructure Programs (CFDA 93.351) awarded on August 1, 2025, for the acquisition and installation of an Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometer system to support proteomics research through the Keck Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics Resource core facility. The Orbitrap Astral represents a state-of-the-art hybrid...
- The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Office of the Director awarded The University of Chicago $350,000 on September 1, 2026, under the Research Infrastructure Programs (CFDA 93.351) to acquire and integrate an ECHO 650 acoustic liquid handler for the Cellular Screening Center. The ECHO 650 employs acoustic droplet ejection technology to enable contactless, tip-free dispensing at nanoliter scales, supporting one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many drug...
- The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Office of the Director awarded Northwestern University $527,651 on June 1, 2026, under the Research Infrastructure Programs (CFDA 93.351) to acquire a 96-channel high-throughput biolayer interferometry instrument (RH96 OCTET). The instrument enables quantitative measurements of protein-protein and protein-small molecule interactions of up to 96 samples simultaneously, using small sample volumes and requiring minimal...
- The National Institutes of Health National Human Genome Research Institute awarded Yale University $2.618 million on July 6, 2026, under the Human Genome Research program (CFDA 93.172) to develop advanced computational tools for de novo genome assembly and assembly-based genomic analysis. The project, titled "Toward Comprehensive Genomic Analysis Through De Novo Genome Assembly," will produce three deliverables. First, the recipient will develop a real-time assembly algorithm that...
- The National Institute of General Medical Sciences awarded Yale University $2,014,434 on June 1, 2026, under the Biomedical Research and Research Training program (CFDA 93.859) to develop a synthetic biology tool that engineers proteins with multiple posttranslational modifications and elucidates their binding function. The project addresses the challenge that protein complexes differentiated by posttranslational modifications cannot be separated from non-modified complexes in mammalian...
The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Office of the Director awarded Yale University $345,676 on September 1, 2026, under the Research Infrastructure Programs (CFDA 93.351) to acquire a Biomek I7 Hybrid automated liquid handler for the Yale Center for Molecular Discovery. The Biomek I7 Hybrid is a state-of-the-art liquid handling platform that automates high- and medium-throughput laboratory workflows with precision, flexibility, and efficiency. YCMD, a university-supported core facility specializing in high-throughput screening, will deploy the system to address limitations in Yale's current automation and liquid handling infrastructure. The instrument will enable automation of standard and complex protocols across research spanning cancer, infectious diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders, dermatology, and neonatal and pediatric medicine. Fifteen faculty members across ten Yale departments identified automation needs that the existing equipment cannot adequately support. YCMD maintains a track record of successful automation technology deployment, evidenced by 47 publications over five years, and offers deep expertise in high-throughput assay development, small molecule and genetic libraries, and screening infrastructure to a broad user base. The Biomek I7 Hybrid will serve as a shared resource facility and extends YCMD's capacity beyond traditional high-throughput screening to support the growing demand for scalable, error-free execution in translational biomedical research. Period of performance runs from September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027. Performance occurs in Connecticut, USA.
