The Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education awarded the Town of Ledyard $1,064,829 under the Impact Aid Program (CFDA 84.041), Title VII, Section 7003, effective October 1, 2025.
The Town of Ledyard, operating through its Ledyard Public Health Nursing Service division in Gales Ferry, Connecticut, receives this Project Grant to support K–12 educational services, including general instruction, special education, English language learning, and school nutrition programs. The Impact Aid Program provides financial assistance to school districts where the presence of federally connected children—those living on Federal property or having a parent employed on Federal property or on active duty in the uniformed services—reduces the local tax base and denies the district access to property tax revenue.
The award period runs through September 30, 2031. The Town of Ledyard has a demonstrated history of Impact Aid awards dating to at least 2021, with cumulative Impact Aid funding documented at over $5.9 million between 2020 and 2023.
