Description
Book project: from mount lebanon to mount zion [this grant will support a timely book, from mount lebanon to mount zion: the truth about israel, america, and christians of the middle east, a blended firsthand account and data and interview-supported exploration of the relationship between america, israel, and middle east christians, with a focus on U.S. Foreign policy in recent decades. The book, while not polemical, will address in a scholarly manner many widespread misapprehensions held by the public and even many in the foreign policy community about the varying conditions and challenges for minority communities in the modern middle east. This project will show that the U.S. Government and american civil society has maintained a robust and positive presence in the middle east, and that israel is neither a pernicious influence in U.S. Policymaking nor a threat to christians in the middle east.]
