About this award

The U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation awarded the Utah Division of State Parks a $5.55 million Project Grant on September 18, 2025, under the Recreation Resources Management program (CFDA 15.524) to construct a 29-site campground near Lost Creek Reservoir. The project, with a completion date of March 31, 2026, will deliver comprehensive recreational infrastructure including asphalt-paved roadways and campsites, water and power service connections at each site, and four Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessible camping sites. The development will also include site amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, shelter pads, and crusher fine walkways.

Supporting infrastructure components funded through this award encompass a full-service restroom facility with seven toilets, multiple shower and sink rooms, and a laundry and washroom; a complete utilities system delivering water, power, and sewer services; a 140,000-gallon concrete water storage tank with associated pumping, filtering, and evaporation pond facilities; a sewer drain field and dump station; and a parking lot with entry building on the access road to Lost Creek State Park. This project will enhance public recreational access to the Lost Creek Reservoir area while improving accessibility for diverse visitor populations through modernized facilities and stable surface infrastructure.
