Description
- Activities
- Isan will compile operating information regarding watercraft inspection and decontamination stations across western states, including data on barriers to expanding such stations. Isan will also analyze the geographic coverage across western states on a watershed basis in relation to known aquatic invasive species infestations. This will include watercraft inspection and decontamination quality assurance and quality control assessments.expected deliverables or outcomes: gathered data will be compiled into a technical report that will serve as a comprehensive guide for watercraft inspection and decontamination stations for managers.
- Intended beneficiaries
- The public purpose of this agreement is to support projects that are intended to protect waterbodies from the introduction of aquatic invasive species to improve water management. For example, dreissenid mussels pose a great risk to western states waters as they negatively impact tourism, infrastructure, and natural resources. Watercraft inspection and decontamination stations are the frontline for prevention and spread of dreissenid and other aquatic invasive species. Maximizing capacity for watercraft inspection and decontamination programs is imperative for the continued protection of natural water resources and by extension constitute a public benefit.subrecipient activities (if known or specified at time of award): n a
