About this award

The Bureau of Reclamation awarded the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) $2,576,487 under the Recreation Resources Management program (CFDA 15.524) on August 27, 2025, to construct a two-level, 5,574-square-foot employee housing structure at Lake Cascade State Park. The facility will accommodate two permanent and eight seasonal IDPR staff members and includes architectural design and construction activities such as site work, building construction, electrical installation, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The bottom level will feature a duplex with two two-bedroom units and attached garages. IDPR is providing a 50 percent cost-share match to the federal funding, with project completion scheduled for October 31, 2027.

This project directly supports IDPR's obligations under a Managing Partner Agreement (No. 21-07-11-L5422) with the Bureau of Reclamation for managing Lake Cascade State Park. By providing adequate on-site housing for park staff, the project enables IDPR to continue implementing necessary park management activities and maintain public safety at the facility. The Recreation Resources Management program prioritizes projects that enhance public health and safety, comply with applicable regulations, and modernize facilities to meet current standards—all objectives aligned with this employee housing infrastructure initiative.
