THE LFCC WEST GATES WILL BE PURCHASED AND INSTALLED AT THE RM 60 SITE IN THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE. THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF INSTALLING AN AUTOMATED GATES TO CONTROL FLOW FROM THE LFCC THROUGH CULVERTS TO THE LFCC WEST. THE PROJECT HELPS CONSERVE HABITAT IN THE LFCC WEST WHILE CREATING HABITAT IN THE RIO GRANDE AND HELP PREVENT OVER BANKING WATER LOSSES THAT OCCUR WITHIN THE LFCC WEST BY REDUCING FLOW TO THE LFCC WEST.
