Description
- Abstract
- The 2026 federation of american societies of experimental biology (faseb) scientific research conference (SRC) on neuronal experience-regulated transcription will be the first ever in-person meeting to convene researchers specifically around the topic of experience-regulated transcription in the brain. Our goal is to facilitate information transfer between researchers with distinct approaches to experience-dependent transcriptional regulation and thereby accelerate biological discovery. Topics of discussion at the meeting will include molecular genetics and genomics of activity-regulated gene transcription and translation; the role of transcription in learning, memory, and synaptic plasticity; dysregulation of transcription in developmental disorders and aging; and new discoveries and technologies to study excitation-transcription coupling. Invited speakers use a large variety of cutting-edge approaches including in vivo models, human cells, dynamic molecular imaging methods, crispr-based epigenomic editing, comparative genome sequence analysis, electrophysiology, and quantitative biophysics. This three-day meeting will be filled with rigorous discussion of research and will promote interaction between participants at all career stages. Our agenda features keynote presentations from two of the founders of this field, who bring exceptional experience and knowledge to the conversation. Talks will be split between invited established researchers and junior faculty, postdocs, or graduate student early-career researchers selected from the submitted abstracts. This will ensure a balance between different perspectives and approaches to the field and allow US to feature the newest and most exciting scientific discoveries. We will have two poster sessions to allow presentation time for all attendees. A collegial atmosphere will be fostered through an arrival night social event, group meals and coffee breaks, and structured afternoon networking sessions.
